Somewhat hanging back
Journal Entry: Fri Jun 20, 2008, 2:54 PM
I've slowed down my work alot, as you all can see, Since I've been running linux and all, my artwork has slowed down to an almost standstill. Why? Well, I wanted to break away from daz stuff. It just doesn't feel like art anymore to me, I'm gonna try making some more original to me stuff. First piece here, it's hard to put a title on it, I feel it's my first real abstract piece I've done. It's got inspiration to me from maybe a few nightmares, and perhaps the video age, or videogame age. I'm not quite sure. I was a little mentally distraught when I started making it getting an eviction notice in the mail, then once I got done venting on the image found out I had enough money to pay it all off lol. After working on the image and looking back at it, I feel my images have more meaning to me if I let my anger or stress go onto the screen and off my mind. This might sound like some new age hippy crap to you, but to me, it's all I can do to relieve some tension in these times of not knowing where I'm going to be tommorow.
Update since my last journal update:
I'm not in the army anymore, unfortunatly, I broke my hip in a training exercise, and was given an honorable discharge in april of last year. I haven't really bothered updating my journal in a long time. My wife had a wonderful son named Chad, and he's getting big. He's almost 2 now. I at the moment am jumping from job to job it seems, trying to find something that will actually pay the bills. Kentucky doesn't offer much these days concidering how high the gas prices are. If I was still in New York, I could take the bus everywhere with their reliable transportation system and be able to make it fine, but here, the public transportation system is about useless, especially for 3rd shifters.
I will continue to post images as I make them, like I said, staying away from daz stuff, If I do more 3d, I will be actually modeling it in blender, no more using other people's models. I'm starting to like playing around with the gimp to make everything these days, but we'll just see.

"A film as rich as a sauce béarnaise, as refreshing as a raspberry sorbet, and a lot less predictable than the damn food metaphors and adjectives all us critics will churn out to describe it."
-David Ansen on "Ratatouille"
I have tried making planets with it too.
it supports .3ds and.max files i think
and there a few plugins for it to make stratas
